Amos Bronson Alcott

Amos Bronson Alcott was born in Wolcott, Connecticut on November 29, 1799. Alcott educated himself and became one of the leading figures of New England Transcendentalism. He infused transcendentalist ideas into a conversational style teaching model. A. Bronson Alcott founded a series of schools, and in 1834, he opened perhaps his most famous, the Temple School in Boston.
