Transcendentalism

Alongside Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathanial Hawthorne, and Henry David Thoreau, Amos Bronson Alcott was one of The New England Transcendentalists. A teacher with years of experience creating schools and implementing progressive classroom techniques, Alcott wrote a number of books, and published letters and journals. Alcott printed a biography of his friend Ralph Waldo Emerson following Emerson's death.
